ecofaith, uniting church
mid north coast NSW

FAITH. ON EARTH (2010) . Connecting faith and ecology through our heart, mind, soul and stomach

Location and getting here.

Bellingen is on the mid north coast of NSW, between the ocean and the rainforest in an extremely biodiverse part of Australia.

The event will be based in the old church building, St Andrews, which is just on the left as you enter town from the freeway. You can see a picture at the top left of the Uniting Church web site.

These days the quickest way to find it, and get a sense of the surrounds, is on googleearth, or play with the map below...

Getting here

Public transport is pretty grim around here, but at the time of writing you could catch a train on the Sydney line (departing central at 7am) and arrive at Urunga at 3:40pm, then catch the bus from Urunga to Bellingen at 4:30 (bus timetable)

There is also a 7:30am train from Brisbane which would leave you with a few hours to poke around Urunga before continuing.

If you are flying, the same bus also leaves from Coffs Harbour, catching it from the university would be best. A cab from the airport to the uni should be fairly cheap. There are also hire cars from the terminal, though you might want to ring ahead.

If you are riding, your best bet is probably to get to the Old Pacific Highway, and then come up Northbank Road (see map). WaterFall way itself is pretty car dominated, and narrow.

If driving from north or south, the easiest is just to take the turnoff to Bellingen (Waterfall Way) and keep driving. St Andrews is on the corner of Ford St as you come into town, your left, next to the petrol station. Go down Ford St then right onto cemetery creek rd for parking at the rear of the church.
